About the event
Tögal:
This February, counter/current:collective presents Tögal, a newly devised theater piece which explores the mystical and transitional states of The Bardos. We are calling this work-in-progress Tögal, which in Buddhist practice means "direct crossing," or the "practicing of vision." Playing with excerpts from Pema Chödrön's How We Live is How We Die and The Tibetan Book of the Dead, a group of visiting artists will join the counter/current team for a five day intensive to develop the work, followed by three special performances for the public.
