This February, counter/current:collective presents TÖGAL, a newly devised theater piece which explores the mystical and transitional states of the Bardos.

TÖGAL is a daring, visceral, and liminal piece about crossing thresholds; a theatrical attempt to dance with the wisdom of the Bardos to navigate the new world order.
In Buddhist practice, tögal means “leapover”, "direct crossing," or “the practice of vision”, and refers to a state of transcendence near death.
Drawing inspiration from Pema Chödrön's How We Live is How We Die and The Tibetan Book of the Dead, a group of visiting artists will join the counter/current team for a five-day intensive to develop the work, followed by three World Premiere performances.
TÖGAL is an invitation to step beyond the veil.
