Join us as we reimagine, in signature counter/current style, Chekhov’s poignant, comical, and quietly devastating masterpiece about ordinary life. Uncle Vanya is a tale about a small rural community, whose lives become undone upon the arrival of an aging professor and his beautiful wife. Dancing on the words of Paul Schmidt’s impeccable translation, these “scenes from a country life” unfold as each character grapples with unrequited love, existential malaise, and a longing for a life unfulfilled.

This is the “must see” theatrical event of the summer: replete with light bites and libations set in an immersive, secret location. Come and lose yourself in the languor and deep humanity of Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya, a story that beckons us towards the tender ache of living, and the question of what it means to go on.

Held at a secret spot 25 min from Belfast and Camden, audience members will find out the location of the performance the day before the show. Performances are partly outdoors and include a set of stairs. Location is not fully ADA accessible, but please contact us prior to booking tickets so we can discuss how we may accommodate you. Please be prepared with layers, rain gear, bug spray, sturdy shoes and water. Bring a cushion if sitting on a metal chair is uncomfortable for you.

Uncle Vanya will open Friday July 10th, and run Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 7:30pm through August 2nd. The performance runs about 2 hours with a 10 min intermission. Keeping with our mission, we will hold a 20n min post-show discussion after each performance.

Please note that a cocktail will be included in the price of the ticket. A non alcholic option will be available; please have your ID ready if you are under 40. This play has mild adult themes and language, appropriate for ages 14 and up in our opinion. Please contact us with any questions or concerns. We will be happy to talk with you about the play!

Psst - did you know we offer our "Art for Everyone" tickets? Discount tickets or tickets for trades available for working artists, single parents, students and anyone who can not afford the necessity of art. We get it, we are working artist parents ourselves! Please do not hesitate to reach out, we want you in the audience!
